• Interaction data with our AI agents powered through OpenRouter and other infrastructure providers

• To personalise study recommendations, feedback, and dynamic revision plans
• To improve our AI models, including analysis of incorrect answers and common misconceptions
• To enhance search relevance in past paper agents and topic-specific question generation
• To monitor platform health and detect unusual or abusive activity
• To communicate important product updates or support responses

3. AI Providers and Third-Party Access

MarkWise uses third-party APIs like OpenRouter to provide AI-powered feedback, analysis, and lesson generation. These providers only receive data required to generate responses and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose. We select providers with strong data handling policies.

We implement best-practice technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage and access control. While no system is completely immune to breaches, we proactively monitor and improve our defences.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as necessary to deliver our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe unless required to retain it for legal or technical reasons.

7. Student Use and Age Restrictions

MarkWise is intended for use by students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Parental consent may be required in some regions.
